My photo ‘Pier’, first published in Agave Magazine Volume 3 Issue 1, September 2015. An abandoned pier in Green Cove Springs, Florida.

With my photography, I’m looking to more accurately express the conceit of a subject, the metaphor it suggests to me in its appearance in my viewfinder. This ‘Neo Mannerism’ usurps and manipulates an image sufficient to best compare that image…to itself. ‘Pier’ was bracketed when taken: 3 shots at different exposure values. In post-process, these were layered and color temperature, saturation, contrast and color curves are adjusted; full and/or partial masks applied, and individual features’ tones are mapped and shifted as I need to complete the expression.
